Genre Across the Curriculum
Just arrived in today’s mail, from Utah State University Press:

Genre Across the Curriculum, edited by Anne Herrington and Charles Moran, with a chapter titled “The Teaching and Learning of Web Genres in First-Year Composition” by Mike Edwards and Heidi McKee.
Thanks to Anne and Charlie for being terrific editors, and to Heidi McKee for being a gracious, insightful, and generous co-author.

Congrat’s. I remember the first time I was published. It was the summer of 1999 and I was serving…err…spending some time at a local correctional facility. I had a lot of time on my hands so I concocted my own manifesto and it was published in oui and barely legal. I was elated to say the least.
Ha! Just kidding. Congratulations, Mike. I can’t wait to read the reviews online…and you know there will eventually be a few student/reader reviews posted.

Thanks, Rob! It’s funny: with the length of the publishing cycle, I look at the chapter now and realize that some of the perspectives I expressed in it are ones I no longer hold — but yeah, I’ll certainly be interested to hear what people have to say about it.
