It’s not an assignment of mine — these are just movies that cadets here have made on their own time, for fun. Although, as Joanna observes, they’re incorporating stuff they learn in class, like “Works Cited” pages.
“Hey, sir. Check this out.” This really is the new media generation — there’s apparently a lot of student filmmaking going on. Some of it’s dangerous pranks or homophobic anti-Navy humor, and some of it’s just cadets being goofy. The chain of command encourages it to a degree, but notes that it’s evidence that cadets may not be as overscheduled as they often complain. And last week, the brigade tac officer showed us an absolutely wonderful video that they’re going to release for the Army-Navy game — so I hope I’ll have a link to that to post sometime in early December.
In this age of “don’t ask, don’t tell” what do we make of a “gay anthem” such as raining men as the soundtrack for the paratrooper film? Hmmm, guess I’m not supposed to ask, am I?
Probably not. But then, the links here demonstrate a diversity of opinion on that topic that might usefully shake up some folks’ stereotypes of today’s Army.
I have no idea. That’s weird. I’ll check my commentspam filters, but that shouldn’t have happened, especially not with yours. I’m sorry, and I’ll try to figure it out.
Bradley, why are we assuming that a male cadet made this video? Mike, do you have any female students? What’s the ratio of male to female cadets these days?

I did wonder. About the citations. And about when it would start “raining women,” too.
